Camps Ross and P.M.I.-- Traditional Webelos Scout Program

General Information
Camps Ross and P.M.I. are Webelos Scout resident camps located on 450 acre Lake Merriweather. Thomas Jefferson once called this area the "Garden of Eden of the United States." Campers at Ross and P.M.I. are fed in our dining hall. Youth sleep in two man tents with cots. Camp is accredited annually by the BSA and meets State of Virginia mandates. Scouts attend with their unit. Camps Ross and P.M.I. feature an activity-oriented program based on fun and adventure. Activitiy badges happen naturally as part of the program.

Webelos Scouts have the opportunity to participate in programs such as archery, the pellet-gun range, scoutcraft, nature, handicraft, swimming, rowing, and funoos (Minature canoes). Hikes, fishing, flag ceremonies, and cooking can be extra activities.

Webelos Scouts can also earn the coveted Webelos Camp Diamond "W" Award. Requirements include:

  • Hike to another base camp OR hike two miles of Goshen Trails.
  • Learn the Outdoor Code.
  • Devote one hour to Service Projects around camp.

Average score of 28 out of 30 on site inspections OR show steady improvement.
